Putter Fitting Guide

Dial in the club you use most.

You putt more than any other club in the bag, yet most putters leave the rack untouched. A precision fitting measures your stroke and tunes length, loft, lie, balance, and grip until the ball starts on line and rolls true. Here's how we do it on the bench at NiceDivot.

The four measurements that matter.

Length & Posture

We measure your stance, eye line, and forearm angle, then cut the shaft so your eyes sit directly over (or just inside) the target line for a repeatable setup.

Loft & Lie

We measure your dynamic loft and lie at impact, then bend the head so the sole sits flat and the ball starts rolling end-over-end without skid or hop.

Head Weight & Balance

Face-balanced or toe-hang — we match the head's balance to your stroke arc and tune head weight to green speeds for distance control.

Grip & Counterbalance

Grip size and weight quiet the hands and steady the stroke. We dial counterbalancing so the putter feels stable through the ball.

Many of these adjustments overlap with our core bench work — see loft & lie, regripping, and swing-weight tuning for the full menu. Building a complete set? Start with the Bag Builder.
